Matt Colton
Matt began his working life in commercial radio at Orchard FM, as a presenter, producer and commercial producer before joining the staff at Porky's Mastering in Soho in 1997.
At Porky's he learnt the arts of CD and Vinyl mastering, working for a wide range of independent and major labels and for artists as diverse as Kylie Minogue, Bentley Rhythm Ace and Aphex Twin.
On leaving Porky's Matt worked at Kinetec Mastering, in Hoxton Square in London, before accepting the offer to move to Bristol and help set up Optimum Mastering. During his four years at Optimum he gained a reputation on both sides of the Atlantic as the 'go to' vinyl cutting engineer for many of the most respected dance music labels as well as mastering CD albums in a wide variety of genres.
Headhunted by Alchemy Mastering he was in great demand mastering for CD, vinyl and download releases for a broad range of artists, from The Go! Team to The Rascals.
Once more working alongside former colleague Ray Staff, Matt is continuing to build on his growing reputation mastering for major and independent clients alike, from George Michael to Depeche Mode, Claude Von Stroke to Radio Slave.
